Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis, 2010 oil on canvas  40" X 56"

Nowhere is the mother and child bond so evident as it is with Elephant society.  From the time they are born, young elephants are nurtured and cared for by the mother, aunts and grandmothers until they are several years old.  The idea of a young elephant maturing into an adult and separating from his family is the idea behind this painting.  I wanted him moving towards the bright eastern sun at mid-morning, a time when things become clear and present in the world.

This new painting will be exhibited at The Borsini-Burr Gallery on Saturday, August 7th, 2010, preview from 5pm to 8pm.

Please call Dianne at 650-712-2111 or email dborsini@borsini-burr.com to RSVP for the show, or get more information on any artwork by Robert Bissell.
